Yoga Nidra for Abundance – A Guided Meditation for Inner Fullness

One of my favorite things to write about are the things I need to remind myself of. I figure if I need to hear it, someone else probably does too. One of those things, lately, has been abundance.

So many times when I hear the word abundance, my mind immediately goes to money.
Do I have enough?
How do I get more?
Why do some people seem to have so much while others struggle?

And then I remember something I already know deep down: abundance is everywhere, and it doesn’t only revolve around money.

There are so many things that are abundant that we barely notice them because they’re so readily available, so woven into everyday life, and often free of charge.

Like oxygen. (You’re breathing it in right now.)

There’s an abundance of people too. If you’re feeling lonely, there are countless others out there longing for connection just like you.

There’s also an abundance of:

  • Soil
  • Sunlight
  • Water (though not always clean or accessible for everyone, and that’s another conversation entirely)
  • Music
  • Beauty
  • Possibility
  • Breath

In other words, there are so many ways to experience abundance right now.

Maybe this sounds obvious, but if you’ve been feeling like you’re lacking something lately, this is your reminder that you are not empty. You are not without. You can cultivate the feeling of abundance from where you already are.

This reflection became the inspiration for my latest Yoga Nidra practice: a meditation to awaken the feeling of abundance that already exists within us.

We begin by invoking a sankalpa (a heartfelt intention):

My life is abundant. Everything I need is within me.

Today, I invite you to create a cozy little nest for yourself and settle into this practice.

And if you’re new to Yoga Nidra, it’s a guided meditation practiced lying down in savasana, a space between rest and awareness where the body can deeply relax while the mind remains gently awake.
